How the frame reads the vein

Night shrine with floating crystals under a gold arch
  1. Place. Swipe the lattice or tap a crystal. The gold frame always covers four stones, two by two.
  2. Turn. Turn left or turn right. That spends one cut. The four stones rotate in place.
  3. Line. Three or more of the same color in a straight row or column shatter. Diagonals stay.
  4. Drop. Stones above fall. New crystals enter from the top. A chain after the drop is free.
  5. Dull cut. A turn that aligns nothing still spends the cut. Those four stones stay where you turned them.
  6. Clasp. A gold ring on a cell breaks only when the crystal under it is part of a cleared line.
  7. Mask. On the last stages a pointed gold garuda can stand in for any color beside it. Three masks in a line shatter on their own.

Four facets, one frame

Fortune Gems keeps the vein under a garuda mask. The mask is not a prize. It is a compass: four facets, one square, and a beak aimed at the line you are about to make. The frame on the lattice is that square, small enough to turn with a thumb.

Five living colors

Ruby is the fast stone and likes short bright lines. Sapphire holds a longer drift. Emerald settles into the middle of the board. Amethyst spreads. Amber arrives warm and late. None of them outranks the others. The stage goal decides which color matters.

Why the north of a line is straight

Only a row or a column counts. A diagonal can look finished and still be quiet. That is deliberate. The eye wants the slant; the cut only honors the straight vein.

Clasps and the private vault

Gold clasps are old seals pressed into the lattice. A clasp does not break because time passed. It breaks when the crystal sitting on it is part of a cleared line. Stones freed this way stay in the vault on this device, beside a short trace of each run.
